Welcome to Carol Kleinman's website. Thanks for visiting!
“I love color—the way one color looks next to another, the way a color changes when you put it next to another. I love the mood created by different colors and the emotions that they communicate. I see artistic expression as a positive way to express emotion and as a way to develop the right side of my brain.”
Born in Greeley, CO, raised in Kansas City, Carol Kleinman lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland. Her weekend retreat is in Kent Narrows, Maryland, where she boats, bikes and paints. She has traveled extensively in Europe and Asia.
Her paintings draw her closer to the beauty of the Chesapeake and Coastal Maine, and the far-off countries that she has visited.
She brings an inner perspective and awareness to everything that she paints. Before painting, she thinks about what colors will work best and how they will play off each other.
Carol just won First Prize in the Holiday Festival of Joy open juried art exhibition at the Friendship Heights Village Center in Chevy Chase, Maryland. The winning painting was "Let's Go to the Carousel" which is displayed above.
One of her paintings won the North Light Book Award and her work has appeared in numerous juried art shows:
• The Miniature Painters, Sculptors & Gravers Society of Washington, DC, 73rd The Annual International Exhibition of Fine Art in Miniature
• The Miniature Painters, Sculptors & Gravers Society of Washington, DC, 74th Annual International Exhibition of Fine Art in Miniature
• The Vienna Arts Society 2006 Treasury of Art Juried Art Show
• Miniature Art 2007 Exhibition at the Council for the Arts of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania.
Carol is a member of the Alexandria Art League and the Kent Island Federation of the Arts.
